Overview
Inventory in SellPilot is per variant per warehouse. SellPilot's variant tracking mode is authoritative: tracked variants use the canonical inventory pipeline, while non_tracked and service variants skip reservations, stock movements, levels, channel push, and low-stock alerts. Shopify inventory_management is provider metadata used during initial import, not the ongoing SellPilot tracking authority.
Best practices
- Let SellPilot manage stock through orders — never edit the inventory tables directly.
- Confirm the variant's tracking mode in SellPilot before troubleshooting; channel metadata is supporting context only.
